ISLAMABAD: Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs, revealed on Friday that the federal government will revive its laptop programme for young people this year under the auspices of the Prime Minister Youth Programme.



She told the reporters that this year, 100,000 laptops would be given to young people as part of the programme.


She expressed regret that the previous administration had put an end to this programme and emphasised that the Prime Minister Youth Program's laptop distribution allowed young people to continue ther study and employment during COVID-19.


Shaza Fatima added that the government has launched the National Innovation Award to encourage he startup culture among young people. PM Shehbaz Sharif stated in February of this year that

 the federal government would provide 100,000 computers to low-income individuals.
